Taahira obtained her Bachelor’s degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in 2012. After the completion of her undergraduate studies, she was employed at LignoTech South Africa as an Engineer in Training and thereafter as the Junior Projects Engineer. She returned to UKZN in August 2015 to pursue her MSc which focusses on conducting a series of Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) on various water treatment plants that use alternative water sources (sea water and acid mine water). Her research project is sponsored by Umgeni Water as well as the South African Water Research Commission (WRC).
