Sandile Mtolo is an undergraduate BSc Chemical Eng. final year student at UKZN Howard College. He started working for PRG as a vacation student last year (2015) in November and is now a member of PRG since February of this year. He is recently working on two projects that are based in Newlands site, one of them being the operation of a nitrification reactor project by VUNA and the other being the monitoring of Lingam and Kubota membranes by BORDA. Sandile has also done his vacation work multiple times with one of the major refinery company in South Africa which is SAPREF. He worked on modelling cooling water pipeline systems in 2010, Synchronization of PI graphics in 2011 and also identifying of steam leaks, N2 and O2 ingress in vacuum columns in 2012. In 2013, 2014 and 2015 he worked with the faculty of engineering in Howard College UKZN during winter school as a student mentor and also in assisting with office work during registration. In his spare time he enjoys teaching especially high school learners and also doing music.
